Gill Rowe

Client:

Year:

I studied Modern History at Oxford University and worked first in publishing and as a freelance journalist. I have been painting for more than 20 years.

From figurative watercolours painted on site, my landscapes have developed, with the help of some fine teachers (notably Robin Child and Jonathan Ellis), into semi-abstract and abstract works painted in the studio in oil, acrylic and mixed media.

Classical music has inspired several purely abstract works. Here key, rhythm and melody will suggest both palette and style. I also enjoy drawing and painting the human form. My particular love is landscape and conveying a sense of place and atmosphere.

My work has been exhibited at Edinburgh, Manchester and Cambridge Art Fairs, at 54 The Gallery, Brick Lane and elsewhere. It is currently on show at The Gallery Little Bedwyn.

My other creative outlet is writing and I have published 8 books of poetry and a personal memoir.

I live in London with my husband and have children and grandchildren.
